Meet the Company Owner

Sahara Import is designed to protect the age-old customs of Moroccan artisans. Each year Berkeley-based Mostafa Raiss El Fenni, whose family members title suggests creative Master, reconnects together with his home in Tangiers, Morocco, first stopping in to check out their older cousin Majid who presides throughout the illustrious Boutique Majid, featuring among the better selections of old amber, Berber objets d'art, handwoven fabrics, and unusual antiques all over the world, and beloved by many collectors and a-listers.

Using this locus of earthly delights, the brothers venture outward to explore countless souks all over the country, handpicking just those things that tend to be truly special and uphold the highest requirements of standard Moroccan art. Several of those treasures make their way to the Boutique Majid in Tangiers plus some result in the long-journey by-boat to The united states where Mostafa, the youngest of 12 friends and family, has for nearly 10 years brought the finest of Morocco to Berkeley, Ca.
